couple more stuff

some books 2 I recently bought yesterday & 1 I’ve had for years
DSCN2412.JPGDSCN2411.JPGsometimes I hate working for the Rockies because I can’t enter any contests where free Rox home tickets are the prizes because If I ever did win tickets to a home game they may end up being on the same day(or night) game I’ve scheduled to work & I’d rather not call-in & say I can’t work that game because I just won tix to that game I was suposed to work (That won’t work for a good excuse for Steve). That’d be like playing hooky & I’ve never done that either — I’d lose my job if I ever did that.

non-Rockies memorbillia

If I had a million dollars…..

If I had a million dollars I’d:

  • donate to the ASPCA
  • pay off all my mom’s bills
  • get Rockies season tickets in the wheel chair section in pavilion in left field for my folks
  • subscribe to MLB.TV & MLB extra innings
  • buy an iPhone so I can d/l whatever MLB.TV type app I need in order to watch a Rockies game on my phone while standing at the Waze gate (next to the Coors Clubhouse) so I don’t fall asleep on the job.

I know, weird topic to start a baseball blog, I’m just bored to death and dying to watch my boys in purple play some ball, it sucks being flat broke and not having MLB.TV or the MLB extra innings package. SRLSLY COME ON APRIL 10TH I miss Coors Field!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll get to see it April 3rd for my staff training and after that I won’t see Coors Field again until April 10th.

In other news: I’m sick & tired of hearing this Jay Cutler/Josh McDaniels soap opera show that’s taken over the sports news on 9News (& other local sports news in Colorado & every where else); because of this Rockies Spring training news is very rarely reported on. & I also updated Rockpile of Memories.

Blog of the Week!

I’m still in shock after reading the Ranter’s blog when he picked me to be the first person for The Ranter’s Blog of the Week! that’s better then winning an Oscar “Best Actress” for a movie! IMO.

A lil about me
I’ve been a fan of the Colorado Rockies since 1993 and will always be a loyal & very devoted fan of the boys for eternity even to the day I die, I’ll be up in heaven looking down at Coors Field & the Rockies watching them play through thick & thin, win or lose the Rockies are and will always be my #1 favorite team of all time!

During the summer I work for Event Services LLC. We work with the Colorado Rockies Baseball Team, we’re the security peeps you see dressed in purple (shirt) & khaki (pants) that you see on the field, ushering in the aisles, take tickets/check bags at the gates, claim check items that aren’t allowed inside the ballpark and also assist fans with help around the ballpark, our goal is to make the fans happy, We’re here for them. For me it’s an honor & a privilege to be working for the Rockies, I end up feeling envy for myself because I go into areas of Coors Field no fans could go into unless they were on those Tours of Coors Field or won the batboy/batgirl sweepstakes or Comfort Dental’s junior Rockie contest. We also get 15% off at all Rockies Dugout Stores (Minus the Diamond Dry Good store located inside Coors Field by Gate C) as well as autographs from Rockies players down at the sign in entrance a week before the final homestand and have end of the season staff party where they (the Supervisors) raffle off some awesome Rockies memorbillia (Signed replica All Star plaques, tickets to next years Spring Training & Fantasy Baseball & other Rockies memorbillia).

Before working for the Rockies I’ve gone to countless # of Rockies games since 1993, I still go but not as often or alot as I like to these days – specially now that I work for the Rockies I debate on weather to go to the game as a fan or work the game. I’ve been to a lot of memorable games; complete game/200th game team win, first Inter-league game, first Rockies road game in Pittsburgh & more but the games I’ll never forget are in 1995 when the Rox won the Wild Card spot (I sat in the Rockplie with a neon pink sign that read “All our Rockies are All Stars”) & of course the amazing ride in 2007 as the Rockies streaked their way into their own history books; winning 21 of 22 games all the way to their first ever World Series in team history (I attended the game in which Todd Helton hit his career 300th Home Run, I was in Right Field, Todd’s HR ball went past me to the 3rd row) I wasn’t in the stands during games 3 & 4 of the World Series or the NLDS/NLCS but I was there so it still counts as being there.

I’ll be adding my Rockies memorbillia to Rockpile of Memories (New name for my photo blog) next so check it out.

Photo blog!

Hey guys! I just made a photo blog last night & I’ve posted some pix already check it out!

YAY Rox win

had a busy 4 days off with working at Wendy’s & also going out to see movies then Dave & Busters with a group of folks from “Special People, Special Places” I was so dead tired last night that when I got home I went to bed and I didn’t get up until 12PM today lol. Anywhoo, in those 4 days the Rockies finally snapped their winless streak Fri by beating the padres 13 to 11 (although they lost to Vinny Castillia’s team from Mexico in Thurs exhibition game but whatever) I bloged about it in my blog report on MLBlogging.com.

Fri I got my Rockies schedule & badge in the mail from Event Services, I’m soooooooooo Psychic! RoxStuff34.JPG although I wish they’d quit putting my real name on my badge, I like my nickname Missy better, not my real name (Melissa) I’ll have to ask Brian if he could change that when I see him for staff training in April. I saw “Watchmen” & “Taken”, didn’t care for either movie, I did see the 3rd trailer for the new Star Trek movie, man I wish I could go see that movie when it opens; IDK if I’ll beable to see it unless I get up extremely early & take the 128 to Flatirons to the AMC Theaters there & hope to be back before 4PM (I gotta be at Coors Field before 5PM).

Looking over my Rockies work schedule is pretty strange seeing these report times although IDK what time they’ll open the gates this year w/the new game start times; some games have me report in at 11AM/11:30AM to 12PM, 5PM to 10:30AM & 6PM — thing is I may end up taking the bus to some of these games so I’ll end up getting there hours earlier or so,
DSCN2075.JPG I wouldn’t mind that though cuzz then I’d bring my 10yr bat & 2007 Event Services Yearbook for some of the players to sign.

I hope the Rox can carry on this winning streak into April & through out the ’09 season
