Purple Sox vs Red Sox, WS ’07 Rematch. I’M IN!
I got my ticket for Wed June 23 against them Red Sox last home stand and I’m psyched! I’m going to that game not only for the 1st of 2 player jersey t-shirts but also to see the Red Sox play in person, I only got to see 15 mins of both game 3 & 4 of the World Series back in ’07 and that wasn’t enough LOL.
I was surprised to get tickets for the Red Sox series because I figured they’d be sold out before I knew it, but the ticket teller said “They’re almost sold out. Rockpile has been sold out for quite a while.” I got my ticket for Sec L306, Row 3, Seat 10 Lower Rightfield Reserved; which is funny because I bought 2 tickets (for me only) for 2 games in July (the 7th vs Cardinals & the 10 vs Padres) & they are in the same section only in Row 4, seat 5. Funny huh?
Anywhoo I’m working almost every game in June, only took Mon the 7th, Tues the 8th & Wed the 23rd off. Same for July only taking the 7th & 10th off, I wanna get me that Coors Light Drink tumbler they’re giving out on the 7th of July and the 10th is the 2010 Team Poster AND FAN PHOTO DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can’t miss that!

srsly! what do these guys have to do to get some *censored* respect from MLB?! move the *censored* out of Colorado? (Heck NO!) Tulo, Todd, Stewie & Barmey had some GG-worthy defense (mostly Tulo) but neither gets an award; instead it’s them dudes from Philly named Howard & Rollins.

Bat spoons!
I won some awesome bat spoons last night at my Event Services Staff party but I ain’t selling them (HECK NO!) just showin’ them off to ya’ll along with other Rockies stuff I got. Enjoy!
Street’s still da man!
Huston Street blown both saves on Sun & Mon night –specially Monday’s game– but he’s human; he ain’t no Superman folks and I’ve seen bad things happen when it comes to Rockies (remember Brian Fuentes?) I was upset at the outcome of both games like everyone else (minus the booing) but so what? it’s just a game & I still say Huston Street’s the best closer we ever had since 1993 – 1998 when Curtis Leskanic was it. Huston’s better then Fuentes & Morales, yeah Franklin had his moments of glory this year while Huston was on the DL then he went to crap (ala Fuentes) whenever Tracy brings Morales in instead of Street I just moan/cringe and hope to god he has a 1-2-3 inning.
What saddens Me was hearing all the boo’s for Huston, very sad, I would never boo any Rockie weather they made a bad judgement call running the bases/missing fly balls/pop-ups or just blowing a save; that’s just not me at all — I’d boo those dang umpires for those bad calls in both games. If I could I would’ve just given him a big bear hug and said “Thank you, at least you tried.” Other then that 2009 has been a more memorable season then 2008 was, lets hope 2010 is even better.
During the playoffs the only team I’ll be rooting for are the Bronx Bombers (aka YANKEES!) The Yankees are my lone favorite AL team and it’s way past time they won a World Series in their new stadium.

If you haven’t heard the Rox signed former A’s/Yankees/A’s player Jason Giambi to a minor league and there was talk about adding Giambi to the expanded roster in Sept but Tracy ain’t spilling the beans on that; speaking of former AL players, the dodgers traded for Jim Thome (from the White Sox) & D’backs pitcher Jon Garland to their team; AND the Giants signed BRAD PENNY to their pen. OYIE!
Event Services had their staff photos taken last month but I haven’t gotten my photo yet, probably get it during this 10 game homestand, and there isn’t going to be a warehouse sale for us in Sept because the guy who does it told Dave (Gate D Media Gate guard) that if he did have it in Sept and we end up going to the playoffs he wouldn’t have anything more to sell. That’s good for me because I wouldn’t be able to buy anything anyways, I have to conserve my money as of this week; with my mom in the hospital for probably a week or two after having hip replacement surgery she’ll be on bed rest once she comes home, that means my Sister’ll have to cook for us while I pay the bills; ‘course Donnie’ll chip in and pay whatever bills he can pay w/his disability checks he gets from the VA, as for my sister paying bills… that’s up in the air as of now, she was paying for the milk & water bill but w/Ex-fiance Terry (#1) not paying for child support she “can’t” pay for anything –but yet she was able to buy a new truck & junk Seth & Devin do not need (more toys), go figure!– now she has a new b/f named Terry who’s supposedly going to help out; um, yeah, right. I’ll believe it when I see it.
Weather or not Stacey & Terry (#2) helps out things are still going to be tougher after Baseball season is over with, I’ll be stuck with a shyty job working 1 day (possibly 2 days) a week at Wendy’s for 3 hours & that’s so not good on the pay check. I just hope I can get my S.S.I. re-approved after Thurs Sept 17th that’s when I go to court to get it re-approved after they rejected me because according to them “I could still get a job,” that’s the dumbest excuse/reason to reject someone who’s 70 to 80% mentally challenged (& has the papers to prove it). Yeah, I can get a job but how the heck am I supposed to support myself FINANCIALLY?! Rockies & Wendy’s checks aren’t enough; with the money I get from S.S.I. I’d be able to pay mom rent money as well as bills and save money so I could go to a community collage and major in photography or something else I like and use whatever money left over as spending money. I was only on the program for 3 weeks when they cut me off last year.
No Car, No license, but a HOT plate.

Pretty short journal eh? yah, just don’t know what to talk about these days that isn’t talked about in all the other MLBlogs… except…..
JEFF BAKER RETURNS TO COORS FIELD FRI AUG 7TH AS MY BELOVED CUBBIES TAKE ON MY BELOVED ROCKIES FOR A 4 GAME SERIES! I’m working Fri, Sat & Sun’s game but GOING TO MON NIGHT’S GAME! WOOHOO! SHAKE ‘N BAKE BABY!

And since the trade of Leskanic to the Brewers in 1999 for Jeff Cirillo and another former Brewer/Rockie (who’s name has escaped me) there have many other Rockies players to wear thy precious #16 thinking they can be the next best thing for the Rox only turning out to be another wannabe Rockie Fan favorite/future HOF like Todd Helton (I don’t care what the Nay sayers say, Toddfather IS a HOF like Hawpe IS an NL ALL STAR MVP! heck NL MVP!). Then along comes Street, Huston Street, the latest Rockie to wear thy beloved #16, at first he had a tough time proving to me that he is worthy of wearing #16 but then as the season moved along and he started saving games ‘n throwing the nasty stuff as if he’s the closer’s version of Tim Lincecum –Minus the CY Young award– I’ve begun to like the guy though have yet to meet him in person (I’m hoping to get that chance on Sat for Photo day).
I got the unexpected chance to meet Taylor Buchholz while I was over at the Bike rack at Gate E doing the usual breaks, I gave Troy, the guy who’s always there his 15 min break and then I see this tall, slightly built –yet VERY CUTE– young gentlemen with a mobilized cast on his right arm; I was trying to think of who it was but as he got closer to me I realized it was Bucky (nicknamed by the fans over at the Purple Row). I’m like Holy crow, That’s Taylor! so as he walked up to the bike entrance I said “Get well soon Mr. Buchholz! You’ve got alot of fans online wishing you well!”, his reply: “Thank you so much, that means alot to me and I appreciate that!” then he went to the Chop House.
Sometimes I just wish I could tell the players that there’s unofficial fan pages on Facebook made by fans dedicated to them, but I can’t because I’m afraid that if anyone else knew that info would contact Facebook and have those unofficial fan pages down and terminate the creator’s account as well –because it is against Facebooks TOS to create unofficial fan pages– but still, it’s just not fair to us fans y’know, not every Rockie player OR other Major League player has time to make an Official fan page on Facebook for fans to ‘become a fan’ why can’t Facebook let FANS make the FAN pages for them? Nor why would they [the players] waste their precious time on a computer when they have a family to spend that time with before they make another long trip on the road?
I don’t know? What do you guys think? Should I let the Rockies players know about the unofficial fan pages on Facebook or not?
BTW: I have met Dan and Emily before the game Wed down in the tunnels, I didn’t know who he was at first but he kinda knew me from what the Ranter’s been ‘rant’ing about in his blog, he said I looked familiar then I brought up the picture of me with the 2007 NL trophy (see below) and he goes “Oh, yeah, now I know why you looked familiar.” I told him “Yeah, I’m Rocktober 2007 & my blog is called ‘View from the Rockpile’” it surprised me a bit that someone would kinda recognize me & know me from my mlblog, I haven’t gotten a ton of comments from anybody else on here other then Julia (of Julia’s Rants) & Emily (of I Live for This), Ranter has also commented but only a couple times last year or so — anyways Dan told me that they haven’t posted since Dec of last year because he just doesn’t like this format MLBlogs has going, I agreed. I don’t post much because there’s not much to talk about and plus I really didn’t like the fact that you have to guess on what size the picture your uploading looks in between paragraphs of your blog entry before pressing send, unlike how Ranter & Emily do it, they do it so perfect yet when I try it, it comes out to big ‘n crappy.
So I guess with my lack of posting here ruins any chances I may have had on making the top 10 of MLBlogs Top 100 list. *sigh* Oh well, it ain’t the only thing I won’t be winning, I’m pretty much used to not winning anything or being #5 or #10 on somebody’s list I guess.

Gate E’s best place 4 Fireworks
Fireworks @ Coors Field are the BEST! Even if you can’t get a ticket to a fireworks game, just come by Gate E at the 9th inning and hang out for a few then when the lights go out lay back, relax and enjoy the show!
Speaking of which, for those of us E.S. employees who worked both 3rd & 4th games got our names put into a raffle drawling for some stuff (autograph bat, ball, etc.) they’ll post the winners tomorrow & Tues night; I hope I win an autographed bat.

seriously! the Rockies are in need of some LoDo Magic this WHOLE SEASON! It’s awesome we got Josh “Dragon Slayer” Fogg up with us (Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad he came back too!) but still, we need more 2007 magic to pull out of this cotton-pickin’ NL West celler where it smells worse then Manny Ramirez’s jersey after a Dodger game oh wait, he’s suspended my bad, but yet he’s 4th in the NL Vote lead for the all star game WHAT THE HECK IS UP WITH THAT? Anywhoo, sad to see Hurdle go & it’s strange hearing “Here’s the starting line up for Rockies Manager Jim Tracy” instead of Clint Hurdle after hearing it for along time, I hope I can still get Hurdle to sign my 10yr bat when I go to Wed’s game against the Rays if not I’ll settle for his autograph on my yearbook.
